Our members and friends often like to help spread the word about our shows by printing out their own copies of the poster and hanging it up around their workplace etc.

This time the poster is in just two formats:  JPG (373KB)  MS Word (396KB)

(Right click on these links to save the file on your computer. The files are sized to print on a A4 page. The image is in colour - unfortunately, this poster doesn't reproduce well in black & white)

Poster artwork is by Bryn Honeyman (based on our star Lanie Hart), with graphic layout by Simon Wall.

About our production...

In Queanbeyan, in May, the hills come alive with the sound of music.

Queanbeyan Players presents the well-known musical The Sound of Music, featuring such familiar songs as My Favourite Things, The Lonely Goatherd, Climb Every Mountain and Do Re Mi.

Director Fiona Hale said the aim is to make the show as authentic as possible, as it is a real story about real people in Austria just before World War 2. "The whole auditorium will be transformed into a cathedral, which will be filled with the beautiful sound of a 30-voice choir of nuns," she said. "James Stone, who designed sets for Titanic in 2004, has gone to great lengths to create an authentic atmosphere for the performance space."

The principals in the cast are an extremely talented group drawn from all over Queanbeyan and the ACT, including Lainie Hart as Maria and David Gilkes as Captain Von Trapp, as well as a double cast of children ranging in age from seven to 16, selected from the more than 100 that auditioned.

"With three separate performing areas in the hall during various parts of the show, the audience are going to be completely immersed in the experience," said Fiona. "I hope that many people will be adding this production to the list of 'their favourite things'."

The Sound of Music played at the Queanbeyan Convention Centre from 19 May until 3 June 2006.
